Notices are a form of functional texts used as instruction or guidance to someone doing or not doing something. There are types of Notice such as Caution, Prohibition, and Warning.
b. The social function of notice is to give information to people to do something appropriately, to give direction, to warn people, to give information about a certain place, and to prohibit people from doing something.
c. The structure of notice:
- Attention gather (optional)
- Information
- Closure (optional)
d. The lexico-grammatical features of notices
- Imperative sentence (can, should, may, etc)
- Command (keep the door, slow down, keep the room clean, etc)
- Declarative sentence
- Information (for staff only, rest area, bike route, etc)
- Prohibition sentence (no smoking, no parking, etc)
- Spoken or written language features (forbidden, banned, prohibited, not allowed, not permitted, not suggested, can’t, may not, must not, etc)
- Singular and plural nouns with or without articles a, the, this, those, my, their, etc.

In Learning Activity 4 I have learnt about how analyse a number of notices in regard to the social functions, text structures, and lexicogrammatical features by showing the expressions, sentences, paragraphs, etc of them. Besides, I understand to obtain a number of notices and state them in regard to social functions, text structures, and lexico-grammatical features.
b. What are the social functions you have learnt from notices?
As we know, the notice is an information or warning of something, especially for wide attention: There are many functions of notice such as to give information to people to do something appropriately, to give direction, to warn people, to give information about a certain place, and to prohibit people from doing something.
c. How are notices structured?
Notices are structured by the clear information and easy to understable so notice has to have an attention gather, information, closure (optional).
d. What are the lexicogrammatical features commonly found in notices?
The significant lexicogrammatical features are commonly found in notice are imperative sentence, command, declarative sentence, information, prohibition sentence, spoken or written language features, singular and plural nouns with or without articles a, the, this, those, my, their, etc, and pronunciation, intonation, spellings, and punctuation marks.
